Product Cleaning and Sorting Process
This process involves the removal of impurities such as weeds, dried flowers, product leaves, pests, insect eggs, gravel, thorns, and other debris from the harvested product delivered by farmers to the factory. This is achieved through sifting and air separation using cleaning machines.
One of the effective activities in product quality and processing is the separation of grains based on size. Upon customer request, the Eghdam Dried Fruit Factory has the capability to perform size sorting into three different sizes based on volume in each run. If a larger number of sizes is required, it can be accommodated using the existing equipment at this factory.

The Color Sorting Machine Industry in Iran
The color sorting machine industry has experienced significant growth in Iran over the past decade. This factory, located in the sunflower hub of the country, became the first pioneer in 2019 to introduce innovation in sunflower and pumpkin seed processing by installing and operating color sorting machines specifically designed for these products after years of research.
One of the key factors in enhancing the quality of final products in dried fruits and legumes is the separation of high-quality, uniform-colored grains from other grains in the initial product. Therefore, due to the importance of this issue in the sunflower and pumpkin seed processing industry and the industry's need to improve product quality, this factory has acquired advanced color sorting machines (Color Sorters) from reputable global manufacturers and has proceeded to separate healthy grains from unhealthy ones.
The operation of this sorting machine involves separating impurities based on differences in color, size, and shape. In other words, with two cameras positioned on each product channel, the product is viewed from both sides during the fall, and after product analysis, impurities are ejected from the main path using ejectors. The sunflower seed sorting machine, or multi-color sunflower seed sorter, is capable of separating impurities from the main product using both free-fall and belt (conveyor belt) methods.​​​​​​​

First, the raw sunflower seeds enter a seed grading machine and are graded according to the size and type of the seeds. They are then transferred to the shelling unit by elevator, where the sunflower kernels are separated from the shells.
The machines in this complex are fully automated and produce the required product without the need for a large workforce. In this way, the processed sunflower kernels are made available to consumers in the shortest possible time and at the lowest cost.

Gravity Separation for Difficult Impurities

Some impurities that mix with the main product for various reasons may have the same weight and color as the product. In such cases, conventional methods like screen sorting or laser sorting are unable to separate these impurities.

In these situations, passing the product through a gravity separation system is the only solution, resulting in a uniform and consistent product.
